Let's Chatt about LEADERSHIP

I believe this is our buzz word for the month of January. We start Leadership Chattooga in January, and we begin with an orientation session with John Maxwell trainer and local businesswoman, Heather Casey (DIRT design & decor). So we learn that leadership is influence. It is not status, and it is not power. It's not even defined by success. Simply put, as John Quincy Addams so elegantly said: "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader."

Needless to say, there are bad leaders and good leaders, based on how their influence guides you. Didn't your parents ever urge you (or your older siblings) to be a good example? Why? Because we can each be influenced by a good or a bad example. We will either ignore it, follow it, or fight against it. What if it's just a "crazy" example? Watch this:

If you know me, you KNOW I'm the shirtless guy dancing. Perhaps I should have some inhibitions about busting moves anywhere I please. But, you need me there. Just like the first follower was needed to transform this simple "crazy" moment into a MOVEment.

Do you see something moving in Chattooga? Do you WANT something to move in Chattooga? Look for the moment. Be a part of the movement. Ask for directions.
